Lending conditions
If the media are not absolutely present (red spine label), you can borrow media from the UB collection. You will need a library card for this. You can check out items at the self-check-out terminals or at the circulation desk in the entrance area of the library.
The lending hours for media that can be borrowed via the self-check-in terminals are basically identical to the opening hours of the UB.
The issue of media that cannot be borrowed via the self-check-in terminals (e.g. interlibrary loan orders) is only possible from Monday to Friday from 7:30 a.m. to 7 p.m. and on Saturdays from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m..
If loan periods are exceeded - to which no grace days or similar are added - charges apply.
Normal loan
- Loan period: 30 days
- Extension of the loan period: via Internet as often as desired up to a total loan period of one year
Special conditions for university staff
- Deadline extension: automatically up to a total loan period of two years
Short-term loans (media from magazine locations 02, 90, 92, 94 and 96)
- Books
- Loan period: 1 day (until 24:00 on the following day)
- If the following day is a Saturday, Sunday or a public holiday, the loan period is extended until the next working day
- Immediate re-lending is not possible
- Bound periodicals
- Borrowing is not possible
Note: The media in the specialised libraries where only short-term loans were previously possible (locations 10, 30, 40 and 50) will gradually be converted to normal loans. The decisive factor for borrowing is not the labels, but the data stored in the catalogue.
