Publication of publications from EU projects (Gold and Green Open Access)
All peer-reviewed scientific publications resulting from Horizon Europe funding must be made accessible via a trustworthy institutional or specialised repository in accordance with current EU funding conditions. This also applies to journal articles that have already been published in Open Access journals.
The University Library offers researchers at Paderborn University the opportunity to publish publications from EU projects on the portal "publication service" portal. For this purpose, researchers can send their publications produced as part of EU projects to the University Library as a list with the bibliographical details. The University Library will then check the possibility of publication via the Publication Service and, if the check is successful, will arrange for publication.
Please note the special conditions for publications produced as part of EU projects before submitting them to a publisher. For example, a machine-readable copy of the publisher's version (version of record recommended) or the accepted manuscript (postprint) must be posted under the free Creative Commons licence CC BY 4.0 without embargo periods at the latest at the time of publication. The "Publikationsservice" of Paderborn University Library is an authorised authorised repository.
For longer text forms such as monographs, the Creative Commons licences CC BY-NC, CC BY-ND or CC BY-NC-ND can be used as an alternative. Please ensure that you do not assign exclusive rights of use or copyright to the publisher, otherwise the Horizon Europe requirements will not be met. The University Library recommends that the Fo at least secure the right for a secondary publication of your publications on the "Publication Service" portal.
If you have any questions, please contact the Publication Service Team. Further information on the EU guidelines can be found here.
